MARTIN NORDQVIST — PROFESSIONAL FREESKIER

For Martin, skiing is a combination of creativity and instinct. It's about the freedom to express yourself on skis and knowing there's always another way to progress.

“I ski a lot by feel,” says Martin. “I like going fast, and I love going as big as possible.”

Growing up in Kiruna has had a huge influence on both his skiing and the way he sees the sport. The long winters and varied terrain gave him the opportunity to spend countless days on snow, developing his technical skills through the natural diversity of the landscape.

“I've always had the advantage of longer seasons than most people,” he says.

What continues to drive Martin is the feeling of progression and the chance to keep living what started as a childhood dream. For him, there's always another way to develop, push his skiing and discover new ways to express himself.

“There's always a new way to express yourself and keep progressing.”

Despite competing on the world's biggest stages, it's often the simplest days that mean the most – blue skies, good friends and the opportunity to try new tricks together.

“A perfect day on the mountain is friends, sunshine and new tricks.”

When it comes to ski clothing, Martin looks for garments that feel comfortable, allow complete freedom of movement and never hold him back.
