MATERIALS

IT ALL STARTS WITH THE MATERIAL

Designing garments made to last for many seasons begins with the material. That’s why we set uncompromising standards at every stage. From fabrics and zippers to carefully selected partners in logistics and production. To ensure consistently high quality, we work with a limited number of trusted and long-term suppliers.

MATERIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Material choices affect performance, comfort, durability and a product’s footprint. That’s why we strive to use recycled or bio-based materials whenever they meet our standards for quality and performance.

As new materials and technologies evolve, we continue to increase their share in our products. We choose durable materials and thoughtful constructions that extend product life and reduce the need for replacement.

By analysing a product’s entire lifecycle, we can make more informed decisions during the design and development process and select materials with a lower footprint.

Material choices are also about responsibility throughout the value chain. We set high standards for chemical content and ensure our materials comply with both legal requirements and our own restrictions.

All textile products are PFAS-free and contain no PVC, phthalates or added silver. Our down is certified, our wool is mulesing-free and we do not use fur.

Together with our suppliers, we continuously work to reduce our footprint through better material choices, more efficient production processes and a gradual transition to renewable energy.

‘We don’t chase every trend. We turn them into something timeless.
Comfortable garments you’ll want to wear for years.’

DESIGN – MADE TO LAST

EQPE develops products focused on quality, functionality, fit and timeless design. Our collections are designed for at least three years, reducing the need for seasonal sales and supporting long-term production.

We select suppliers based on high standards for social responsibility, environmental performance and technical expertise. Every supplier signs our Code of Conduct, based on internationally recognised principles for human rights, labour conditions, environmental responsibility and anti-corruption. All manufacturing partners are independently audited before production.

DOWN – NATURAL INSULATION

Down is used as insulation because of its unique ability to trap air and effectively retain body heat. This makes it especially suited for skiing and outdoor activities in cold conditions, where low weight and high warmth are essential.

The material is light, soft and highly compressible, making it easy to pack and transport without compromising its insulating properties. This allows for garments that provide a high level of warmth in relation to their weight, while still offering good freedom of movement.

All down is responsibly produced and certified.

POLYESTER – DURABLE

Polyester is a durable, high-performance material well suited for outerwear used in skiing and outdoor activities. Wherever possible, we use recycled polyester.

Its low weight and high durability make it ideal for garments exposed to harsh weather and heavy wear. Polyester offers excellent moisture management, moving sweat away from the body to help keep you dry in cold conditions.

Its quick-drying properties are essential in changing weather. The material also resists wrinkles, shrinking and abrasion, extending product life. Polyester can be recycled, supporting a more resource-efficient production.

TECHNICAL COMPONENTS

EQPE uses technical components from trusted suppliers to ensure performance, quality and long-lasting durability.

Selected garments feature RECCO® reflectors, helping rescuers locate people more quickly in mountain environments.

Some products use Sorona®, offering excellent insulation, stretch and lasting comfort while being partly made from renewable raw materials.

We also use YKK® zippers, renowned for their precision and durability. Together, these components help create reliable garments designed for active days in changing weather and demanding outdoor conditions.
